Spokes and (spoke) nipples hold rims with tires at the correct distance to the hub. A non-centered wheel can be a danger as it negatively affects the ride quality of the bike. With the right adjustment and centering of the wheel, wear of other parts is reduced. Brakes wear uniformly, the hub is less stressed by the constant load and the tires roll off evenly. Overall, the driver receives a very good feedback through properly set spokes and nipples.
